hatchlings are small but are very social and can be imprinted upon by humans to make as companions they lay 6 eggs, but depending on the nest quality can hatch their front legs are made up of condensed matter/shadow and can hold physical objects/work like any other limb their elemental energy are stored in pouches on their throat and bellies
