Given that there IS a mod you can download for the game, you shouldn't have to. The other thing that irks me is that the game doesn't even have an option for manual transmission. There aren't even locations to visit to swap out your car or places that have functionality in general. The Wii version was developed by Exient Entertainment. It has everyday cars to drive and customize, and a world to freely roam around in, and street races to attend. Need for Speed: Heat is more akin to Need for Speed: Underground 2. I enjoyed it because of how expansive the world was that you could drive in and because I could drive everyday cars in it. The first Need for Speed game I played was Need for Speed: Underground 2.
